Taiwan visit: Karmapa conducts Mahakala puja
Day 2: Taiwan, November 29th, 2014. In the afternoon, a Mahakala Tsok puja (ceremony) was conducted by Thaye Dorje, His Holiness the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa, with the assembled Rinpoches, lamas and the monks from Rumtek monastery participating.
Mahakala is a buddha form who is said to protect Buddhist practitioners and especially the Karmapas’ teachings. The puja was performed to pray for Taiwan, and coincided with election day in Taiwan.
