Karmapa pays a private visit to Dhagpo Kundrol Ling
Following his public programmes at Bodhi Path Renchen Ulm, Dhagpo Möhra, Karma Migyur Ling, the Europe Centre, and Dhagpo Kagyu Ling, Thaye Dorje, His Holiness the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa paid a private visit to Dhagpo Kundrol Ling in Auvergne.
During his stay there, His Holiness took time to meet with the monastic and lay practitioners, as well as various groups involved in the centre’s activities and the study curriculum. During one of these meetings he was given a report of the various activities and developments that had taken place over the past three years, followed by a guided tour of the newly renovated parts of Kundrol Ling.
He also paid a visit to Choco Marcel, a chocolate factory and tea room located in a refurbished ancient barn, 20 minutes’ walk from Kundrol Ling monastery, where he was shown the chocolate-making equipment and sampled the freshly made ice cream.
On the evening of Saturday, the 26th of August, Karmapa joined the assembled practitioners in the large temple of Le Bost for a puja of four-armed Chenresig, the Buddha aspect embodying enlightened compassion.
Karmapa departed Kundrol Ling on the 29th of August, headed for Karma Guen in Spain, the final stop on this year’s European tour.
