Karmapa joins 40-year celebrations at Dhagpo Kundrol Ling
Thaye Dorje, His Holiness the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa, arrived in Dhagpo Kundrol Ling in Auvergne, France, on the evening of the 28th of June, 2024.
During his stay there, Karmapa joined the celebrations for the 40th anniversary of the founding of the centre, which were held in the big temple of Kundrol Ling over the weekend of the 29th and 30th of June. He gave a Dharma talk, held an extensive question-and-answer session, and transmitted the Buddhist Refuge and Bodhisattva Vows, as well as the empowerment of Jamyang Mawa’i Senge, an aspect of Manjushri, the meditation aspect representing enlightened wisdom.
Over the course of the next few days, Karmapa also met with various groups of centre representatives and administrators, and was given a report of the various activities and developments that had taken place over the past year since his last visit in August 2023.
Karmapa departed Kundrol Ling on the 6th of July, 2024, headed for Prague, his next stop on this year’s European tour.
