Karmapa donates 14.6 million rupees to Covid-19 relief funds
Thaye Dorje, His Holiness the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa, has donated 14.6 million rupees to India and Bhutan to support their efforts to address the coronavirus pandemic.
Karmapa shares the following message to his students around the world regarding these donations, and the practice of generosity:
These contributions are a symbolic offering of appreciation and support from our lineage. On top of that, I would like to take this opportunity to express my appreciation to everyone around the world who contributes to efforts to tackle the Covid-19 pandemic, be it in the form of financial means, supplying food and other essentials, or any other kind of support.
Even the simplest form of generosity, such as offering a few potatoes or even a smile, makes a big difference. Thus, I encourage everyone to practice whatever form of generosity you can – no matter how limited your financial means may be.
