Karmapa announces teaching programme in Germany and France
Thaye Dorje, His Holiness the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa, announces today that he will teach in Germany, at the Europe Center, and in France, at Dhagpo Kagyu Ling in August and September 2019 respectively.
Here are more details about Karmapa’s teaching programme:
Europe Center, Germany (2 August – 4 August 2019)
- There will be a welcoming ceremony for Karmapa and Thugseyla. This will include mandala offerings, as well as offerings of Ku Sung Thuk (the symbolic offering of enlightened body, speech and mind) to both Karmapa and Thugseyla. The ceremony will also include the serving of traditional tea and rice, and some speeches.
- Guru Yoga of the 16th Karmapa
- Karmapa will give a teaching on the ‘37 Practices of a Bodhisattva’, a seminal Buddhist text written by Tokme Zangpo
- Karmapa will bestow the empowerment of Avalokiteshvara (Chenresig), the Buddha aspect representing enlightened compassion
Dhagpo Kagyu Ling, France (20 September – 22 September 2019)
- Karmapa will give a teaching on the Refuge and Bodhisattva Vows
- There will be a ceremony of transmission of the Refuge and Bodhisattva Vows
- Karmapa will bestow the empowerment of Avalokiteshvara (Chenresig), the Buddha aspect representing enlightened compassion
- Karmapa will give explanations on the practice of Chenresig, and guide a session on this practice
