Karmapa’s 10-day programme in Malaysia
From 19-29 May 2016, Thaye Dorje, His Holiness the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa, will visit Malaysia for a ten-day programme in the capital, Kuala Lumpur, titled “Discovering our Inner Wealth”.
Organised by the Karma Kagyu Dharma Society Kuala Lumpur, the programme includes Dharma teachings, public audiences, and the opportunity for new Dharma students to take Buddhist Refuge.
Relics of Karmapa’s late teacher, His Holiness the 14th Kunzig Shamar Rinpoche, will be installed into a stupa, and Karmapa will lead prayers for Shamar Rinpoche’s swift rebirth.
Karmapa will lead traditional Buddhist ceremonies, whereby participants can accumulate merit and purify obstacles, such as releasing captive animals, and making symbolic offerings to the Buddha.
Two full days of the programme are dedicated to a Kagyu Monlam, a group aspiration prayer, with 1,000 offerings for world peace, the prosperity of all nations, and the liberation of all sentient beings.
