Ethiopian Airlines plane crash: Karmapa’s message

Following the news that Ethiopian Airlines flight ET302 from Addis Ababa to Nairobi crashed this morning, killing all those on board, Thaye Dorje, His Holiness the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa, shares the following message of condolence.

Dear dharma friends

An Ethiopian Airlines plane crashed this morning. All 157 people on board, including people from 33 different nationalities, lost their lives in the tragedy.

At this difficult moment, we pray for all of the victims and their loved ones.

None of us know how long we have in this life, and so we must use every moment wisely. May we utilise this heartbreaking news, this tragic example of impermanence, as a reminder to treat all others with loving kindness and compassion.
