in 1983, Lama Ole Nydahl founded the Diamond Way Buddhist Retreat Center Schwarzenberg. Since the 1980s, many high Lamas of the Karma Kagyu lineage have been in Schwarzenberg: Thaye Dorje, His Holiness the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa, Shamar Rinpoche, Jigme Rinpoche, Mipham Rinpoche, Tenga Rinpoche, Lopon Tsechoo Rinpoche, Kalu Rinpoche, Topga Rinpoche and many others.
Our centerpiece are retreats: open, closed or semi-closed, single or couple retreats. In addition there are group retreats for sanghas and multi-day group retreats for Ngondro and 8th Karmapa practitioners. We daily meet for a guided meditation on the 16th Karmapa.
In 1999 a Stupa of Reconciliation was built and Lopon Tsechoo Rinpoche inaugurated the Stupa in a traditional ceremony.
