The Kharkiv Diamond Way Buddhist Center was registered in 1992 after Lama Ole Nydahl first came to the city. In the first eight years of its existence the address changed four times – during that period the center was located in friends’ apartments.
Since December 16th 2000 and up until now the Buddhist Center has been situated in a spacious private house. Much effort had to be put into making the new center building look the way it does now. The Lama’s blessing, our friends’ generosity, and the diligent work of all practitioners has led to the fact that a brick box with no windows and doors within just three years has turned into a beautiful Buddhist center of about 400 sq.m. with a big meditation room, library, kitchen, dormitory and numerous other amenities.

As well as daily meditations, the Kharkiv Buddhist Center regularly holds public events, city lectures, presentations of our teachers’ books, and open days. In the center there is a library containing a large number of books and extensive video footage.
