Augsburg Diamond Way Buddhist Center
Augsburg is a 2,000 year old city located in the middle of south Germany. Under the spiritual guidance of His Holiness the 16th Gyalwa Karmapa, Lama Ole Nydahl founded the center here in 1982.
For over 20 years, the center was located in a house with a beautiful 3,000 m² garden, in which a little stupa - a Buddhist monument symbolizing the enlightened mind - was placed in 1992. Since August 2003 we have been in new and amazing rooms downtown.
In the 1980s many Lamas organized by Hannah and Lama Ole Nydahl visited the center: Tenga Rinpoche, Bokar Rinpoche, Ayang Rinpoche, Beru Khyentse Rinpoche, Lama Jigme Rinpoche, Lama Toensang, Ngagpa Jampa Thaye, Lopon Tsechu Rinpoche, Garwang Rinpoche, Gyaltsab Rinpoche, Khenpo Chodrak Rinpoche, and others. At the beginning of the 1990s: Lama Chogdrub Dorje, Lama Tashi Dondrub and others.
